Atlantis is a lamp that uses water as a means to diffuse light. When turned on, the constant brightness causes the Marimo – a type of algae that grows in the form of velvety spheres in cold lakes of Northern Europe and Japan – to float to the surface to maximize its photosynthetic capacity, and then descend when the lamp is turned off.
