Ries is a design studio founded in Buenos Aires in 2016 by Marcos Altgelt and Tasio Picollo. Driven by the curiosity to explore different materials and their techniques, their approach to practice is influenced by the mixed experience of their team, who, through a collective vision, manage to combine processes linked to craftsmanship and industry to create pieces that seek to elevate the experience of everyday living. Navigating between aesthetic simplicity and problem-solving complexity, their work spans various fields, ranging from the design of small objects to interior design projects, as well as the creation of unique pieces and serial production. They have showcased their work in exhibitions and fairs in the United States, Europe, and Latin America. They have also been featured in major international media outlets such as the New York Times, Architectural Digest, Vogue, Wallpaper*, among others. In 2018, together with Juan Garcia Mosqueda, they founded Quick Tiny Shows, an experimental platform to promote the exhibition of new ideas related to art, design, and architecture. In 2021 they inaugurated Concepción Local, a space that serves as an open stage for the development of independent culture and a meeting point for the local community of designers and artists. Since 2022, they have been leading the Strategic Design Management class as full-time professors in the Bachelor's Degree in Design at the Torcuato Di Tella University.
