Concepción Local is a collaborative space dedicated to showcasing design, arts, and crafts, curated by Ries. It's conceived as an open stage for the development of independent culture, aiming to be a magnet for entrepreneurs and creatives who lack spaces to showcase their work in Buenos Aires, providing a favorable environment for their growth. Based on fixed tariffs rather than operating as a conventional store or gallery with standard resale margins, Concepción Local changes that structure to be more friendly to designers and artists. This new model offers ideal conditions transparently and honestly to foster multidisciplinary interactions, leading to the transformation of each practice's individual reality. We believe that in this way, relationships among the space's participants are driven by a genuine interest that reinforces the idea of a creative and independent community. In addition to its permanent program, the space will also host temporary events that promote design culture, such as exhibitions, launches, conferences, workshops, and projections, among others. By continually expanding and enriching its program, Concepción Local aims not only to satisfy the demands of an audience with a growing interest in the subject but also to increase awareness of contemporary design, drive the market, and provide an accessible space for professionals, collectors, clients, and enthusiasts alike. The first season of the space, from July 2021 to July 2022, will feature the following studios/artists in permanent exhibition: Grupo Bondi, Gastón Badii, Hecho, Helmut, Lamas-Burgariotti, Luna/Oks, Ries, Rodrigo Bravo, Sur del Cruz. Special thanks to El Espartano and Huup Iluminación.
