Bonpland 2169
Located in the same building by adamo-faiden architects, but in different floors, these two projects intend to explore the capacity of a homogeneous interior space, without pre-established programs to host different types of users, and in consequence adapt multiple layouts and furniture arrangements depending on the requirements. We believe this flexible, open plan type of appropriation will lead us to see a new type of living in compact, dense, and programatically diverse cities. Each project houses a different program; one of them is a private home, whilst the other is an Airbnb unit. The home –in pink curtains– faces north and has direct sunlight almost all day, which led us to think in furniture and elements with reflecting or translucent surfaces and warm colours. Contrary to this, the Airbnb faces south, and is smaller in surface so in this case, we tended to use darker, colder pieces and colours. These two projects could be understood separately, but gain more strength when seen as one, as they are different interpretations of the same concept, adapted to similar, but different spaces.
