Área Tres

ÁreaTres is a co-working space located in the Palermo neighborhood, Buenos Aires. The commission was to develop a cladding and movable panel system that would allow for flexible space division and, at the same time, improve the acoustic conditions of the area. The project was entirely made using Guatambú multi-laminate panels of different thicknesses. The cladding, positioned 10cm away from the wall to create an air chamber, is composed of a perforated 6mm layer, with modules spaced every 50cm, revealing another layer of multi-laminate behind it. As for the movable panels, we used 12mm thick plates connected perpendicularly, resulting in a faceted surface. This assembly logic allows a flat surface to gain structural characteristics, giving it volume while also serving as an object with sound-absorbing properties.
